Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come to the office if I have an illness such as Covid 19, common cold, chicken pox, etc?

As a healthcare clinic, we operate with the knowledge that any patient could have a communicable illness whether they know it or not. We do ask that you inform us as soon as you know that you are sick so that we can discuss best options for treatment. With that said, we follow recommended cleaning guidelines of the space throughout the day. The acupuncturist is washing hands and using hand sanitizer and wearing PPE as needed. Also, patients will typically not encounter other patients except in passing. In the clinic, masks are requested if you suspect any illness that is communicable by droplet/airborn. Please call 414-379-3726 with any questions or concerns.

Can you treat COVID-19 / SARS CoV-2?

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are not frontline treatments for this coronavirus. Hundred Grasses does provide assistance in healing after a patient has recovered from the virus, with long-haul illness, as well as preventative healthcare to keep you in tiptop form. HG would be honored to help you heal from COVID-19. Acupuncture and herbal medicine are a part of a supportive toolkit, not a replacement for your conventional medical care.

Is acupuncture for me?

Acupuncture is for you if you are looking for a healthcare modality that is 100% personalized to your body and your symptoms. If you would like to know if you and Hundred Grasses are a match, we encourage you to schedule an evaluation. You can set that up by calling here.

Do you have to believe in acupuncture for it to work?

No, you do not have to believe in acupuncture for it to work.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Not much. That means, every now and then you might feel a zinger. But by and large it doesn’t hurt. Most people look forward to their treatments — partially because they relax, and mainly because they know they are getting better.

Hundred Grasses respects your language and identity. What does that mean?

Here at the clinic, we want people to feel our respect, and that requires effective communication. Areas of identity such as race and ethnicity, gender, abilities, size, neurodiversity and age are are part of being human and are integral to health and wellness. HG is a part of the larger healthcare system and we are aware that there is always room for improvement. So please let us know if we can better use language in any way. Krista’s pronouns are she/her/hers.

Hundred Grasses is a body positive, size positive and size inclusive clinic. What does that mean?

We practice with the belief that all people deserve respect for where they are at in their healthcare journey regardless of the shape they take. Size does not dictate health.
